Box Office results April 10-12

Here we have an example of a weekend about which I can say “move along, nothing to see here”, which puts me into the unique position of figuring out how now to talk about it. Furious 7 has crossed the $800 million mark worldwide after picking up an additional $59.5 million, right now they are leading the box office with no challenge due until May 1st when Avengers: Age of Ultron opens. Newcomer The Longest Ride picked up $13 million for a very quiet opening, odds of this film picking up any additional momentum is unlikely.  The only real movement in the top ten this week comes from the small films and While We’re Young wich all picked up additional theatres and attracted audiences.  All told, this past weekend was half of what last weekend saw.  With this upcoming weekend opening Unfriended, Paul Blart:Mall Cop 2 and Disney documentary Monkey Kingdom next weekend is due to be quiet too.
