Wii U Removing Friend Codes
I never thought I’d say this, but is Nintendo about to do something right with online gaming.
According to an interview with MTV Multiplayer, Ubisoft producer Adrian Blunt let the following news slip when discussing the strength of Wii U multiplayer on their upcoming Ghost Recon Online:
There’s a few things on that. The first is the ability for individuals to make accounts. Rather than a machine having an account, each individual user has an account
He later went on to discuss that these new accounts are similar in concept to Xbox Live gamertags (yet didn’t divulge on if that meant achievement as well) and that they will make it much easier to find friends to play with. Before this, users would have to input a 12 number code into their friend list and hope that your friend remembered to do the same.
One can hope that Nintendo has a patch lined up for the 3DS to remove that small remaining strand of Friend Codes left.
