Viz’s Haikasoru Brings You Rocket Girls
For those of you who spend your time with your hands down your pants, Haikasoru, a VIZ media brand has been bringing us Japanese Sci-fi for a good while now and lucky for us we have the pleasure of enjoying a new release.
Rocket Girls: The Last Planet is Housuke Nojiri’s second volume in the Rocket Girls series. The aforementioned Rocket Girls during an experiment accidentally splash down in the pond of one of the girls’ old school, but thanks to the brainy Akane, they are able to save the experiment. Afterward Akane is hired by the Solomon Space Association to accompany the Rocket Girls on a mission to Pluto, possibly to verify once and for all if it really is a planet and to explain what the hell a dwarf planet is.
“We’re very excited to announce the release of the latest installment of the Rocket Girls series from the award-winning Housuke Nojiri…It’s the perfect combination of hard science-fiction and teenage hijinks…”
So we have teenage girls in space, what ever “hijinks” are, and Hard Science-fiction. Sign me up. I can’t honestly say I know too much about Rocket Girls, but if there’s one thing I know it’s that I trust VIZ as a publisher and I’m always down to check out some new sci-fi especially when it’s got teenage hijinks! I can imagine it now, “It’s not like I like you or anything, I just had some tang left over from my last mission and couldn’t drink it all, ok?!”. Haha, I slay myself.
Rocket Girls: The Last Planet is out now. Grab it at your local book store or pick it up online. Thanks to VIZ for the info [Rocket Girls at Haikasoru]
