Tron Legacy – 2 New Clips
I’ve decided today that I will be spending the entire day of December 17th at my local IMAX theatre (about 40 miles away) watching this movie over and over and over again. I think this will be the first movie that I’ve ever done a threepeat viewing of on the day of release. That should tell you something…
You see, I am a geek at heart, that much should be known already, but what type of geek I am, hasn’t had proper representation until this movie has come about. I’m a Tron nerd. To prove this, I humbly submit the following evidence:
- When my friends used to have neighborhood wars, I would bring my frisbee while they instead chose to bring their toy guns…pretending that I was a program on the game grid who would dispatch his enemies with his Identity Disk.
- The old anti-drug commercials in the 80s had slogans like: “Users are Losers” which in my childhood mind, I decoded as “Users OR Losers” which meant me walking around asking everyone if they were Users or Losers, and me proudly proclaiming for weeks that I was in fact a User.
- For the longest time, I would avoid the Brach’s Cinnamon Disc candies because I always associated red guys with the MCP, therefore evil…hey I was 5!
- I have played damn near every version of every Tron game, including the most awesome home version on the Intellivision.
So yeah, I’m a Tron geek, it’s probably one of the reasons that I’m an avid gamer and a huge computer nerd. So when I say that I’m overly excited for this new movie to hit the theaters, it’s an understatement to how I really am feeling about this.
Now there are 2 clips that I’m going to share with you today. First up is the extended trailer for the movie which shows us just a little more of the story that is to come.
The second, is an actual scene from the movie where Bruce Boxleitner is describing the page that he receives from Kevin Flynn’s office…from a number that’s been disconnected for 20 years.
I can’t stand that this movie’s release is about 3 weeks away. This is my Xmas, birthday, and anniversary in one big package. I wasn’t even this stoked about the Star Wars Prequels or the Star Trek reboot!
