This is Tomb Raider?
Things like this are what keep gaming magazines on shelves instead of absorbed by the digital age.
The cover you see above is of the upcoming January 2011 issue of Game Informer, featuring yet another facelift to the Tomb Raider franchise. The game, titled simply Tomb Raider, features the first adventure of protagonist Lara Croft, who at this time is very young and inexperienced. While the title is meant to be an origin story, head of Crystal Dynamics Darrell Gallagher has bluntly stated “forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider”. Whether this is a response to clear up the already convoluted timeline of Tomb Raider or a reboot announcement won’t be known until the issue hits shelves.
I honestly like the new look of Lara Croft. It might be a little too “Square-Enix androgynous”, but it’s a lot more believable looking than the DD-cup acrobat we’ve gotten used to.
