Stargate: Universe – Trailer
SG1 was always one of those television series that whilst I’ve never devoutly watched week in, week out I’ve always enjoyed watching the show when it was on even if I wasn’t entirely sure what was happening sometimes. Stargate Universe has been written with newcomers to the series in mind so hopefully it won’t be bogged down with too much Stargate lore that will put off the casual viewer who don’t know much about the previous movie and show. According to the shows website Stargate Universe is about:
Stargate Universe follows the adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team on board the Ancient spaceship Destiny. Transported to Destiny in a distant corner of the universe and unable to return to Earth, members of the team are forced to remain on the vessel and fend for themselves.
It sounds pretty interesting and by the looks of the trailer the show will be action focused which should attract a few viewers and in the UK show lead Robert Carlyle is a household name which should get people who don’t normally watch science fiction shows to tune for at least the pilot. The show will be premiering as a two hour movie on SyFy in the US and Sky 1 in the UK this October, I’ll be checking out the pilot to see if it’s worth watching but the trailer above has definitely piqued my interest to give it a try.
