If you’re a fan of action RPGs, and let’s face it, who isn’t these days? You should feel a bit more chipper knowing that Nier (aka Nier Gestalt in Japan) has been given release dates for the non-moonspeak countries. Gamers in the US and Europe can expect the game to arrive worldwide on the 27th of April. If you’re wondering what the hell Nier is about, just watch the trailer below.
The plot is as follows, you play as Nier, a father who is desperate to find a cure for the Black Scrawl virus which has infected your daughter. Joining you on your journey is the strangely appealing hermaphrodite who curses like a sailor Kaine who used to be all woman until she was possessed by a demon, and the sentient book Weiss who allows your character to cast magic.
Seems like a solid enough idea, but I can tell already that this game won’t sell all that great and will probably end up on the bargain bin shelf quickly enough, much like some of the other great Squeenix titles in the past. That’s probably right when I’ll pick it up.
I sit upon my throne as the owner/shogun of this site, WatchPlayRead. But it wasn't always so. I too have had blogspots, I've done other community blogs, I've even written professionally for other sites out there...yet none of them provided the content I had a real passion for.
It is then that I became tired of being a small cog in a big machine, and of writing about nothing but game news after game news article and the periphery that comes from such schlock, like knowing who Michael Pachter and Bobby Kotick are.
I decided to start MediaWhoreNetwork.com and ran up my post count there for about 2 years, commenting about any and everything that I wanted to. I even started a weekly podcast that I feel has come into its own.
It wasn't until earlier this year that I realized that having the word "whore" in your URL might be a bit limiting to my potential audience. I then made the website and its branding move over to WatchPlayRead.com.
