So Long 1 vs 100, it’s Been Fun

If you’re unfamiliar with the service, it was essentially an MMO Game Show that boasted prizes for those who played the game. It was free for all Xbox Live Gold users and was one hell of a good time, but Microsoft doesn’t like you having fun so say goodbye to your precious 1 vs 100 because Microsoft, in all of their infinite wisdom has decided to kill the game.

The wildly successful game has run for 2 seasons on Xbox Live and was slated to change the way audience members participated in game shows. Until it was announced this week that the product was going away.

“When we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept. We’re very proud of the ‘1 vs 100′ team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we’ve learned to future programming. [The team is now] focusing their skills and applying the technology used to develop ‘1 vs 100′ to new projects that will be unveiled in the future.”

While we may be saying toodles to this one product, I can only hope that they’ll eventually come out with something new for the XBL community to take part in. It was fun while it lasted.
