Acti Blizz (in their infinite wisdom) have decided to willingly delay the release of Singularity until the next year’s first quarter. This is really because they don’t want to try and be in competition with Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2.

There was a huge clammor over the new MW2 game after E3 this year meaning that the game is set to sell better than anyone imagined. Seeing how Raven and A-B have been working on Singularity for some time, they don’t want to end up losing money on the game.

What I think is great is that this means that more and more companies are starting to pay attention to the gamers instead of the holiday cycle. Sure, AAA titles that come out around Xmas sell well, but after the glut of games we got last year, I’m guessing game companies figured out that there was money to be had all year. Besides, a sci-fi shooter versus what is still one of the most played (even for me) multiplayer games on the internet, there really wouldn’t be much competition. At least now I won’t have to make a choice between one over the other.
