Shonen Jump Every Week on the Same Day as Japan? HABEEB IT!

The successor to Shonen Jump has finally arrived.VIZ Media, former handler of the now defunct Shonen Jump monthly magazine, has ditched the trees and is now bringing us the manga even faster than ever. How fast, you might be asking? How does same day sound?

At a more than reasonable $25.99 a year and a guaranteed 48 issues a year, that’s 54 cents an issue. Since VIZ is bringing you the manga right from the source, the translations are guaranteed to be accurate and on-time. For those who’ve dealt with legally-shady fan translations before, this is a small price to pay for good grammar and timely releases (no three-months span to half-ass translate an issue here).

The new digital Weekly Shonen Jump will pick up new series as their Japanese counterpart does, but here is the current lineup (* denotes a monthly release on the closest Monday to the Japanese release):

  • Bleach
  • Blue Exorcist *
  • Cross Manage
  • Naruto
  • Nisekoi: False Love
  • One Piece
  • One-Punch Man Brand new series as of the January 21st issue.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration *
  • Toriko
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal *
  • One shot mangas and digital gifts

Not everything in the subscription is digital, however. You’ll also get exclusive promotional Yu-Gi-Oh! cards throughout the year in your mailbox…if that’s your kind of thing. If not, I’m sure the kid down the street would love to take them off your hands.

Weekly Shonen Jump can be accessed either through the web or via the free iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire, or Android Viz Manga app. Those who are still not convinced can check out the Shonen Jump Starter Pack, a 345 page preview volume
