Touch darkness and darkness touches you back…
Woody Harrelson and Mathew McConaughey are bringing a little bit of the big screen magic to your living room in HBO’s new crime drama, True Detective. The eight episode self contained story follow’s the two detectives(McConaughey and Harrelson) as they search for a serial killer in Louisiana over a span of seventeen years. If you’re a little surprised HBO was able to sign these two movie stars to a television show, don’t be. True Detective will be following the American Horror approach with new stories and actors each season, so this will presumably only be a one season gig for the two stars. But with early reviews already calling this the best new show in 2014 and HBO’s history of quality original programing, you can bet I’ll be setting my DVR and giving this one a shot. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. Is the star power of McConaughey and Harrelson enough to get you excited for this killer new drama, or is HBO only good for watching some show about winter coming?

True Detective premieres on HBO January 12
