Red Dwarf Will Return
Many people think that Red Dwarf ended long ago…and for the most part, that’s true. However, thanks to the ratings that Red Dwarf’s last season got (in its short 3-part miniseries). I watched the Back to Earth special last year, shortly after it aired and I have to say that it wasn’t quite as good as the original series was…but not terrible.
That might have something to do with the departure of Rob Grant after season 6 of the show, leaving only Rob Grant to handle the series.
It’s been confirmed that all of the four central members of the cast, those being Cat, Rimmer, Kryten, and Lister (Danny John-Jules, Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn, and Craig Charles respectively) will be back for the new six-part miniseries. It’s unknown whether or not Holly (Norman Lovett) will be returning after his criticism of the show’s last episodes.
When they finally get around to recording the episodes, they hope to do so in front of a live studio audience and then broadcast the show in 2012 on the cable/satellite channel ‘Dave’. I can’t wait to see what they’re capable of this time around if given a better budget than the Back to Earth series got. We’ll just have to continue to wait and see.

I sit upon my throne as the owner/shogun of this site, WatchPlayRead. But it wasn't always so. I too have had blogspots, I've done other community blogs, I've even written professionally for other sites out there...yet none of them provided the content I had a real passion for. It is then that I became tired of being a small cog in a big machine, and of writing about nothing but game news after game news article and the periphery that comes from such schlock, like knowing who Michael Pachter and Bobby Kotick are. I decided to start MediaWhoreNetwork.com and ran up my post count there for about 2 years, commenting about any and everything that I wanted to. I even started a weekly podcast that I feel has come into its own. It wasn't until earlier this year that I realized that having the word "whore" in your URL might be a bit limiting to my potential audience. I then made the website and its branding move over to WatchPlayRead.com.
