Rambo Returns For Final Volume

The last Rambo movie came out way back in 2008 and was a rather surprising success in the box office as the investment of 50 million earned back that much and then some, to the tune of 113 million. That’s not too shabby for the fourth movie in a series. I bring all this up as there seems to be rumors of a new Rambo flick on the horizon.

The film is going to be titled Rambo: Last Blood and will hopefully wrap up the series that began all the way back in 1982 with Rambo: First Blood, a movie that I feel any action movie fan should have in their respective collections. Not only was it a triumph for Stallone, but was a great film to show how good of an actor Brian Dennehy is.

The plot of this supposed final movie in the series is unknown at this point, but I wonder if Rambo coming home at the end of the last film means that we’re going to have another “in the USA” Rambo flick like the original. It is suggested that the movie would follow closely to the plot of the James Byron Huggins novel “Hunter”, but like I said, it’s unknown exactly what the plot will be.

Stallone will return to write and direct and the film will be produced by Avi Lerner for Millenium Films. Avi has worked with Stallone in the past with 2008’s Rambo and 2010’s The Expendables. After reading on Mr. Lerner’s method for producing films, he’d not make this investment unless he’s pretty sure it would be successful.
