Damn man, I'm honestly going to miss hearing this guy's music.Being the other resident weeaboo on this blog, it is my sad duty to inform you all that one of the best hip-hop producers to come from Japan has died. Seba-san was in a fatal car crash in Japan on the 26th of February.

There might be a few of you out there who are wondering who this mysterious Nujabes guy was. The best way for me to explain it, is that he was essentially the Dr. Dre of Japan but not focused on blunts/bitches/bling. He had a very unique style to his music, which was very prevalent in the anime series that made his name known to guys like me in the US, Samurai Champloo.

You might recall the video above as the opening for Samurai Champloo, but he also did much more than just that series, in fact…if you’re ever lucky enough to find a CD of his, you should definitely scoop it up because the man was a producing genius. Just listen to another one of his amazing works.

He may not have been aware of it, but his music reached many of us here in the United States…especially those of us inclined to enjoy anime and instrumental hip-hop. I’d have paid to hear a collaboration between him and DJ Shadow. See ya Nujabes.
