Patrick Stewart revealed recently that neither he or Sir Ian McKellen would likely be making an appearance in the upcoming Bryan Singer X-Men flick X-Men: Apocalypse.
I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance.
This shouldn’t be a surprise really, but more of a final note from Professor X that he thinks his aged version of the character wouldn’t be facing off against his nemesis. However, it has been confirmed that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will be in the film, so like the Prof. said, it seems to be focused on the younger iterations that came about in First Class and continued in Days of Future Past.

I’m not particularly crestfallen considering I enjoy the dynamic between Fassbender and McAvoy, but who knows…they could always sneak them in.
