New Manga Releases for the Week of February 3, 2015

Here are the new manga releases that are coming out this week. VIZ Media has the lion’s share of the new titles, although Dark Horse Comics, Seven Seas Entertainment and Kodansha Comics have new releases as well.

A sexy new teacher comes to Class 3-E to do the students’ assassination job for them, but the job is harder than she imagined. When the bullied students of Class 3-E start showing signs of self-esteem, Principal Asano demands that Koro Sensei put them back in their place so they continue to serve as a bad example for the other students. A class trip also goes horribly wrong.

Black Rose Alice Vol. 3 by Setona Mizusgiro
VIZ Media – MSRP: $9.99

Azusa Kikukawa has become Alice, resurrected in a century-old body and becomes the breeding ground for a group of vampires. Alice is serious about fulfilling her role, but needs some time to adjust before she commits herself. But will her hesitation cause Alice her chosen mate?

Hime and her friends may live in an enlightened era where equality among all sentient creatures rules the day, there are still harsh reminders that things haven’t always this way. The girls struggle with their plans for the future, and Shino-chan learns an important lesson about empathy.

Food Wars! Vol. 4 by Yuto Tsukuda

Soma has challenged Totsuki graduate Chef Shinomiya to prevent Megumi’s pending expulsion. But thanks to a condition levied by Gin Dojima, the match turns in an unexpected direction.

Haganai: I Don’t Have Many Friends Vol. 10 by Yomi Hirasaka

Kobato’s birthday is coming up, and a party is coming up. The Neighbors Club, a group of socially-inept students with no clue how to make friends, have a practice party so they’ll know how to behave at a real one. The school festival is also on the horizon, and the Neighbors Club needs to come up with an idea for an entry.

High School Debut Omnibus Vol. 5 by Kazune Kawahara
VIZ Media – MSRP: 14.99

Yoh faces a difficult choice – should he go to university all the way in Tokyo or stay near Haruna? Haruna wants to support Yoh’s decision, but will her high school romance end with his graduation?

Honey Blood: Tale Zero by Miko Mitsuki
VIZ Media – MSRP: $9.99

This volume includes the one-shot chapters that made Honey Blood’s serialization possible, as well as two bonus short stories from the author.

Black learns the truth behind Mushama’s disappearance, White learns the origin of the King of Team Plasma, and the epic battle between Reshiram and Zekrom rages on.

Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction by Kenji Kitamura
VIZ Media – MSRP: $9.99

In the underground Diamond Domain, the Mythical Pokemon Diancie serves as ruler. The Heart Diamond that sustains the land is starting to fall apart, and Diancie is not yet strong enough to make a new one. Diancie seeks help from the Legendary Pokemon Xerneas, and runs into a group of thieves who want to take control of the Pokemon’s diamond-producing power.  The Legendary Pokemon Yveltal awakens from its cocoon, and it’s up to Ash and his friends to help out.

Toriko Vol. 26 by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro

A battle has broken out at the Cooking Festival, and it’s Toriko against Starjun, Sunny against Tommy, and a group of world-class chefs and Gourmet Hunters against Gourmet Corp.’s vile monsters and villains.

Voice Over! Seiyu Academy Vol. 9 by Maki Minami
VIZ Media – MSRP: $9.99

Senri Kudo’s unusual upbringing prepared him for being an actor, but it also left him ill-equipped to have normal relationships with kids his own age. Can Senri act his way into being a good friend, or will “getting into character” get him into more trouble with his peers?

The Wallflower Vol. 34 by Tomoko Hayakawa
Kodansha Comics – MSRP: $10.99

Sunako ends up in a less-than-glamorous part-time job as a panda mascot at an amusement park. She ultimately fails, but she may have a chance to redeem herself when she and the boys from Nakahara mansion are asked to perform in a Power Ranger-like stage show.

World Trigger Vol. 4 by Daisuke Ashihara

Yu-Gi-Oh! Omnibus Vol. 1 by Kazuki Takahashi
VIZ Media – MSRP: $14.99

Tenth grader Yugi had his head in some game until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing the spirit of a master gambler from the age of pharaohs. Yugi is possessed by the puzzle and becomes Yu-Gi-Oh, the King of Games. He challenges evildoers to the Shadow Games, which are weird games with high stakes and high risks.

Kaito and Shark are in an epic duel with Shadow, and the fallout from this battle leads to some surprising revelations about the Numbers War.
