New Manga Releases for the Week of August 18, 2015

This week sees new manga releases from Kodansha Comics, Seven Seas Entertainment, Vertical Comics, VIZ Media, and Yen Press.

Yato is a homeless god. He doesn’t even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers. So to achieve his ambitious goals, he’s set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he’ll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.

Ani-Imo Volume 4 by Haruko Kurumatani
Yen Press – MSRP: $12.99

Despite his trepidations, Youta agrees to check into a love hotel with Yurika in pursuit of the two who now inhabit their bodies. Youta is pleasantly surprised by the hotel accommodations, but surprise turns to shock when he hears moans emanating from Hikaru’s neighboring room. The experience leaves Youta deeply shaken.

BTOOOM! Volume 11 by Junya Inoue
Yen Press – MSRP: $13.99

“BTOOOM!” and its trademark explosives have decimated both the island playing field and players alike, but is the final stage of this live death-game now in sight? Tsuneaki Iida, programmer for Tyrannos Japan, shares key information about the game’s masterminds and the conspiracy, and he lets Ryouta in on a secret function hidden in the BIMs, asking him to take down the game’s system. Still plagued with doubt, Ryouta steels himself for battle and carries out his do-or-die plan to hijack the Tyrannos Japan helicopter. But the price Ryouta will pay for his operation is heavy, and an unexpected turn of events awaits.

Citrus Volume 3 by Saburouta

Even though outgoing and bubbly Yuzu doesn’t always get along with her serious step-sister Mei, she still wants them to be a family. But when Mei kisses Yuzu, it makes their already complicated relationship that much more complex. That’s when Matsuri shows up, an old childhood friend of Yuzu’s who is determined to battle it out with Mei for the title of “Yuzu’s little sister.” What Yuzu doesn’t realize is that Matsuri isn’t the sweet little girl she used to be, and she’s willing to use every dirty trick she can to break up Yuzu and Mei’s relationship.

Clay Lord: Master of Golems Volume 2 by Jun Suzumoto

The Devil Is a Part-Timer!: High School Volume 1 by Satoshi Wagahara

In this spin-off of the novel series, the devil king Satan and hero Emilia are reincarnated after their terrible battle – as high school students in modern-day Japan. Add in the innocent Chiho, a fellow student with a crush on the former lord of darkness, and you’ve got a romantic comedy of epic proportions.
