Naruto Shippuden The Movie: The Lost Tower
If there’s one thing that I enjoy about really successful anime series is their one-off movies that have absolutely nothing to do with the canon episodes. Their creators always have an interesting way of getting their characters into sordid adventures.
I honestly can’t think of a bad movie version of some of the more popular shonen series. I mean, One Piece has great movies, Dragonball Z had tons of great flicks, and even Naruto has had some good ones. Yesterday Viz dropped Naruto Shippuden The Movie: The Lost Tower (that’s a big title) which is fourth in the series of Shippuden movies.
This adventure features Naruto being transported back in time after confronting Mukade (one of the missing-nin) where he and his team 7 captain, Yamato, ultimately are destined to face off against the big baddie. If you’ve ever seen an OVA or movie for a popular series, you know exactly how things go… I mean come on, it’s anime, it’s not the destination that matters but the fun and drama that happens along the way, ne?
Anyway, the movie was released yesterday on Blu-ray ($24.98) and DVD ($19.98) and has tons of special features and a comedic short included on the disc. Go, purchase, consume, and let us know what you think!
