Mr. Rogers to Fight Congress from the Grave

Congress has voted to cut funding to various forms of public media. It is in this writer’s opinion that our good friend Mr. Rogers would not be happy about this. In fact, he’d be downright sad. If you don’t believe me, check out the video of his testimony to The Senate in 1969.

Programs like Sesame Street and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood were such a powerful influence on my generation. As adults NPR is a great resource for good news. Let us strive for a country that has positive media. I want my son to have alternatives to guns and Spongebob.

I’ve created a Facebook page to try and raise my voice in a peaceful manner for this cause. CLICK FOR LINK.

I’ll leave you with this quote from the man himself:

“I think it’s much more dramatic that two men could be working out their feelings of anger, much more dramatic than showing something of gunfire.”
