Morning Cup o’ Music

Day two of the Coheed & Cambria month of Morning Cup o’ Music brings you the groups most prolific song off of their second album, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. Just wait until I try to explain what this song is trying to tell you about the story of the Amory Wars.

From my understanding the beginning of the song is Claudio telepathically watching his girlfriend Newo Ikkin write a letter to him stating all of the good times and how she still waits for him and will always leave a light on for him to come home to her. The song quickly switches to Claudio’s regret for leaving her the way he did which was abruptly and without a proper goodbye. Oh did I mention that I think he’s asleep on the Grail Arbor (spaceship) during this song? He is woken up by the sounds in the next room of Jesse Kilgannon’s ‘daughter’ Chase crying because he had just died.

Yeah…there’s a ton going on in these songs.

I’ve got so much more to share with you all as this month goes on, I can’t wait until we get later in the month and I start in with more of the Good Apollo Vol. 2 songs.
