Microsoft Goes Undercover to Stop “Black Ops” Pirates

If you turned on your Xbox 360 yesterday you noticed you had a new mandatory update. Officially, it was to fix a minor bug that had to do with starting the console and going directly to disc in drive.

According to a few forums on the internet, after people installed the update their “back up” copies of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops no longer worked in their 360. The update was only about 7 MB big and I didn’t really notice anything different from starting from the disc in my 360.

None of us here at WPR really condone piracy, but I think this kind of stuff is the way it needs to be to lock out pirates and cheaters from online gaming communities like the Call of Duty franchise has.
