Last week we were playing around with Edgar Wright’s blog when he was teasing us with an image that made the Internet explode with speculation about what kind of Ant-Man story we’d be getting in 2015.

You might recall that I stated that Paul Rudd would make an excellent Scott Lang and a not-so-good Henry Pym…well I’m glad to say today that we now know who will be playing who with Marvel announcing Michael Douglas as Henry Pym.

Those not in the know, Hank Pym was one of the founding members of The Avengers who developed a serum to shrink a person to the size of an ant, and a helmet that could control other ants. He has a much longer and expanded history but for the sake of this film I’m hoping he plays the hapless victim who has his identity stolen by Lang.

Kevin Feige of course had tons to say about the announcement:

With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves. We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.

What do you all think, yay or nay to Douglas as Pym? I’m just more excited we get Paul Rudd playing Lang. With his brand of comedy being directed by Wright, this should be a fun movie.
