Killzone 3 demo coming to PSN on Feb. 16th
For those of us who weren’t lucky enough to be a part of the Killzone 3 beta, a Killzone 3 demo will jetpack its way into your face on February 16th (February 9th for Playstation Plus members). Killzone 3 is coming out on the 23rd or February, so if you’re a little unsure about whether or not you want to pick it up, give it a try. Personally, I will be giving the demo a whirl to see if the controls have been improved at all. I tried to get into Killzone 2 but was turned off by the clunky controls. This didn’t seem to be a problem for most people, as the game was well received by critics and fans alike, but I just couldn’t get comfortable with it. According to the EU Playstation Blog, the movement and aiming mechanics have been tightened up a bit, so I’m excited to see exactly what that means.
The demo will take place on the “Icy Incursion” level and will be single player only. There will be two versions of the demo available for download, a standard 2D version and a fancy 3D version for you early adopters of the new technology. The 2D version will reportedly have split-screen co-op, but the 3D version will not support co-op. The demo will also be Playstation Move-enabled so everyone who owns a glowy-ball wand can wave it around like a magician and thrust it at the screen for melee attacks.
I’m looking forward to checking this demo out. I love seeing the PS3 flex its graphical muscles and I think Killzone has always been a series with great potential. Hopefully those controls have been tightened up significantly and there is a little more substance to the single player campaign this time around. Anyone else excited to get their hands on Killzone 3?
