Indie Game: The Movie – Trailer
After over a year of hard work and traveling, Indie Game: The Movie is almost ready to be released. Indie Game: The Movie follows independent game developers Team Meat (Edmund McMillan and Tommy Refenes), Phil Fish (of the soon to be released [hopefully] Fez), and Jonathan Blow (Braid) as they go through the process of making their game dreams a reality.
BlinkWorks, the team responsible for this documentary, is pushing for release by the end of this year, but they once again need your help to raise the money they need for the final production push. They hope to raise another $35,000 through Kickstarter to cover post production costs (such as audio, color, and mastering) to guarantee this movie looks the best it can be. Supporter incentive ranges anywhere from: a digital copy of the film (at $15) to a DVD of the film (at $30) to an executive producer credit (at $5,000). The DVD is said to be stuffed to the brim with content, which they have plenty of. So much content, in fact, that they will also release a special edition DVD including additional stories behind other prolific indie game developers. The special edition DVD can be preordered with a donation of ($75). All donators of more than $15 will receive a Special Thanks credit in the movie.
As of this posting, the project is already at $20,273, less than $15,000 from its goal. You have until Saturday July 23 to make your contribution to the project, so even if they reach their goal early, you can still secure a copy for yourself.
