The obvious recommendation for this week is LA Noire. The game has been in the works for about 5 years and has gotten a whole load of praise from the reviews that went out today. You could see that as being Rockstar syndrome, but RDR was an step in the right direction and LA Noire looks to continue to that trend of storytelling over being a Serbian immigrant killing everyone in your path for kicks.
