Funimation Acquires Rights to Cowboy Bebop, Among Others

During Saturday’s industry panel at Otakon, Funimation announced that they have rescued the rights to many former Bandai Entertainment properties, which stopped shipping to retailers back in November. Among the titles saved are:
- Outlaw Star
- Witch Hunter Robin
- Tales of the Abyss
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
- Code Geass: Akito the Exiled
- My-HiMe
- My-Otome
- My-Otome 0~S.ifr~
- My-Otome Zwei
- Angel Links
- Crest of the Stars
- Banner of the Stars
- Banner of the Stars II
- Passage of the Stars – Birth
Perhaps the most exciting announcement Funimation had in store was that they would be re-releasing Cowboy Bebop in both digital and Blu-ray formats next year. The announcement trailer is below:
