Todd may be the Ugliest Kid on Earth, but the world around him is much uglier. He has no friends, not by choice mind you, as any attempt to socialize with the other kids is met with ridicule and a heavy dose of verbal punishment. Also, the people around him have the tendency to find themselves without a head after meeting Todd. No, Todd is not a closeted psychopath. He’s merely in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth may center around a child, but this comic is anything but kid friendly. Besides the aforementioned decapitations, the comic is full of xenophobia, homophobia, sexual innuendo, and dark humor. If you can handle all of that, then Todd, the Ugliest Kid on Earth is a fantastic mini-series to sink your teeth in. Ken Kristensen definitely shows that his screenwriting chops translate well to the ink and color form, as in one issue we already have a good idea of what drives each and every character.

Though Todd the Ugliest Kid will be over in 4 short issues, I highly recommend picking this one up. I expect great things with this series, and I highly doubt it will disappoint.
