Finally, the core books are complete for 5th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons!

DnD Dungeons masters guide

In a nutshell, the DM Guide essentially serves to give you inspiration and easy guidelines to follow that will spark the imagination to create adventures for your players to explore and enjoy. You get world-building tools, tips and tricks, optional game rules and help on magic items; the whole works.

Going through the pages, the artwork is was easily held my attention. As much as there is to learn from reading this book for building your own adventures, you compound that knowledge with the visuals that you can relate back to players. The list of interior illustrators is quite long but I want to acknowledge that their services make this book quite gorgeous to look at. I actually found myself really liking the images of items. I felt that having that extra visual of some of the more mystical items really got my imagination going on possibilities. It’s hard to explain how visuals like this inspire creations, adventures and such to people who aren’t already a fan of Tabletop RPG’s. But if you’ve ever considered yourself a creative person, or you’ve been itching to finally see what D&D is all about, this is THE time to start. Especially with all things Geek going mainstream these days, this is really the best time to get started if you’ve been hesitant.

I found the rules and other explanations very easy to follow. While I love a lot about this game, my opportunities to apply that knowledge hasn’t come together quite yet. I have complete confidence in running a game though, because the book knowledge you get from going through this guide sets you up easily.

The D&D Dungeon Master’s Guide will be available to buy on December 9th. I suggest buying it on Amazon: Dungeon Master’s Guide (D&D Core Rulebook).

I want to thank Wizards of the Coast for sending us this early review copy to check out. I can’t stress enough that 5th Edition does an excellent job of making transitions for new and old players to setup fun campaigns. With the Player’s Handbook (Dungeons & Dragons), Monster Manual (D&D Core Rulebook), The Rise of Tiamat (D&D Adventure), Hoard of the Dragon Queen (D&D Adventure) AND the Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: Fantasy Roleplaying Game Starter Set (D&D Boxed Game) now available. You have everything you need to get your next tabletop adventure up and running.

So, what’s holding you back?
