Elstree 1976 – Kickstarter
The film, Elstree 1976, is an independently made documentary by Jon Spira (see Anyone Can Play Guitar) that follows the lives of ten extras from the original filming of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The film crew spent 18 months following the subjects, all of them were obscured by a mask or helmet in the movie, around as they live out normal lives and spend time in the autograph convention circuits.
The film is asking to reach a goal of approximately $50,000 to cover post production costs and to secure rights to the original footage. Seeing a film that not only has David Prowse AND Jeremy Bulloch in it but also the obscure people who played Greedo and Imperial Stormtroopers all telling tale of their brush with the juggernaut that is Star Wars seems like a no-brainer and with a mere $15 you can secure a digital download when all is said and done…I might just go over and donate today.
