The Doctor saves Valentine’s day.
Did you know that there is a Doctor Who episode appropriate for just about any holiday or special occasion? Well if you did, congratulations, if you didn’t don’t feel too bad. Also, it has been a while since I’ve been able to write much about my favorite show so I thought I would present to you my list of Doctor Who Valentine’s Day appropriate(ish) episodes. I’ll confine myself to what is readily available on Netflix for the sake of your convenience, and I’ll keep it within the “new” series. It does no good to recommend everyone watch an episode that is not readily available.

“The Girl in the Fireplace” – Series 2: Episode 5. The Doctor meets Madame de Pompadour and her royal court at Versailles, and makes the king jealous.

“Love & Monsters” Series 2: Episode 11. Elton, a man obsessed with finding The Doctor, finds Ursula, their love life is complicated, but they find a way.

“Human Nature” & “The Family of Blood” Series 3: Episode 9&10. The Doctor becomes human and does the one thing he should never, ever, do, and then, he falls in love with a human.

“Silence in the Library” & “Forest of the Dead” Series 4: Episode 9 & 10. The Doctor meets River Song, and Donna meets the perfect man, a recipe for a happy ending.

“Amy’s Choice” Series 5: Episode 7. Trapped in a dream world, Amy and Rory must make some difficult decisions about their future, and Rory dies for the first time.

“Vincent and the Doctor” Series 5: Episode 10 – not really Valentines related, but I will never pass up the opportunity to recommend this episode.
