Incorruptible #9

Incorruptible #9

Something is coming down the turnpike in Incorruptible #9. Literally. The only problem is Max Damage and Jailbait are in Star City tracking down the one who leaked Max Damage’s secret invulnerability to his enemies:  one of the Plutonian’s ex-girlfriends. This does not lead to the big clash between the Plutonian and Max that I […]

Baltimore: The Plague Ships #2

Baltimore: The Plague Ships #2

In the first issue Lord Baltimore rolls into town and begins cleaning up the place almost like Clint Eastwood in a “Man with no Name” movie. We know very little about him and why he hunts vampires. Issue two picks up right where issue one leaves off, he is released from prison and is aboard […]

What I’ve been WPR’ing.

What I’ve been WPR’ing.

Since I’ve been going through sort of a writer’s block period. I couldn’t really come up with some such to write about. I decided that I’m going to try to talk about what I’ve been doing this week. Since the site is Watch Play Read. Thats exactly what I’ve been doing. Fancy that.

Dracula: The Company of Monsters #1

Dracula: The Company of Monsters #1

You should know, Dracula is not really in Dracula:  The Company of Monsters #1.  Well, Vlad Tepes is, in flashbacks.  However, there is no bloodsucking going on in this comic. That may sound bad to you; after all, Dracula is the name on the cover.  Upon reading though, you will find that is a really good thing.

First Views! Stan Lee’s new Soldier Zero #1

First Views! Stan Lee’s new Soldier Zero #1

Stan Lee is back, and damnit. It looks good. Boom! Publishing was awesome enough to let us give you a first looksie at what Stan Lee (writer/artist), Writer Paul Cornell and Artist Javier Pina have but together for Soldier Zero #1, what do you think?

Pale Horse #3 (of 4)

Pale Horse #3 (of 4)

OK, I’ll admit it:  I figured this western comic book series would let me down before it ended.  However, I thought it would be in the fourth and final issue, not this one, the third issue of Pale Horse. This gives me hope for the next issue out next month.  This issue of this bloody […]

The Bulletproof Coffin #3

The Bulletproof Coffin #3

The busty broad on the cover isn’t enough to get you to buy The Bulletproof Coffin #3?  Well then how can I convince you?

Dark Horse Closes MySpace Page

Dark Horse Closes MySpace Page

This is actually old news, but of note considering the rise of digital comic books. Last month, Dark Horse Comics posted its last MySpace comic.  Not much fanfare, just a letter at the end of the comics that were posted.  The reason?  Other digital medium.  In the letter, they mention Dark Horse’s own web page, […]

Marvel Universe- Archangel Review

Marvel Universe- Archangel Review

I finally got my hands on the “2010 Fan’s Choice Winner!” Archangel. Last year Hasbro gave the fans an opportunity to choose what figure they wanted the most, and Archangel was the winner. I have been looking for this figure for approximately three months. With the recent release of the variant I was wondering if […]

Dark Horse Comics–$1!

Dark Horse Comics–$1!

Dark Horse is re-releasing some of its most famous first issues for only $1.  First up this week (August 11, 2010) are Frank Miller’s first Sin City tale:  The Hard Goodbye (you know, the one with Marv) and Aliens vs. Predator. Sure, it is like the dealer giving you a discount on your first hit, […]

The Calling: Cthulhu Chronicles #2

The Calling: Cthulhu Chronicles #2

That strange picture on the cover is the biggest reason I was waiting for this comic book.  Who, or what, is in the picture? Of course, you won’t find an answer in this issue of The Calling:  Cthulhu Chronicles, but that is what part of what makes this book enjoyable.

BPRD: Hell on Earth: New World #1

BPRD: Hell on Earth: New World #1

Yes, this book really does have three titles.  The main title is BPRD.  The secondary title is Hell on Earth.  The third title (that will go on the next four books  after this as well (it is a five part mini-series)) is New World. Did you get all that?  Good.  Did you buy it yet?

Buzzard #3

Buzzard #3

Didn’t Buzzard #2 just come out?  Must have been late.  That is OK.  I got to read them both in one afternoon. Verdict:  A short mini-series focusing on Buzzards quest for his own death has been a good idea.
