Baltimore: The Plague Ships #1 (of 5)

In Baltimore:  The Plague Ships, Dark Horse Comics would like you to introduce you to Lord Henry Baltimore.  World War I has just ended, but for Lord Baltimore, the war continues as he hunts vampires.

Baltimore was originally conceived by Mike Mignola (Hellboy) and fleshed out with the help of writer Christopher Golden (too numerous books and comic books to mention here).

The Plague Ships is Baltimore’s first comic appearance, although Mr. Golden and Mr. Mignola penned the book Baltimore or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire.  It is a novel although it featured some art by Mr. Mignola, a la The Lost Army (also written by Mr. Golden).

The art on Baltimore: The Plague Ships is done by Ben Stenbeck who also drew the art on Mignola’s Witchfinder.

Actually, the art is not the only similarity between this title and Witchfinder:  Both feature a noble chasing a magical evil.

You may know that I have drunk the Mignola Kool-Aid, so I will follow this book next month.  (At least the Germans here are not Nazis!  Whew!)

Bottom Line $3.50/$3.50
