LRE #30: The Karate Kid
Little Red Envelope In my mailbox this week: The Karate Kid Release Year: 2010 Staring: Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan, Taraji P. Henson I suffer the slings and arrows, so that you don’t have to. Do I really need to say anything else?
What to Watch: Chopped All-Stars Premiers 03/06
It’s a mix between Iron Chef, and survivor. And on Sunday, the celebrity hosts of Food Network and other famous chefs take on the Chopping Block.
What to watch: Stargate Universe returns on 03/07/2011
That’s right. That cursed show, perhaps the greatest show on TV (in my opinion) is finally returning to TV on Monday.
Rumor Mill: League of Shadows
The rumor mill is back at it again, this time with unsubstantiated ‘inside information’ that the primary villian in ‘Dark Knight Rises’ will be none other than the League of Shadows.
Rumor Mill: Avengers will kick ass.
How about this? Either Thor, or Captain America is set to have a newly filmed Avengers trailer attached to it.
Bad idea of the day: Bieber movie director landing GI Joe 2
Nothing says hardcore action movie, like Justin Bieber. I associate those two things together like Milk and Honey, or Fish and Chips, or Draino and Fruit Loops. I remember back when I was a child, watching Rambo for the first time (this was the 80’s.) And thinking to myself, ‘You know what? I think this […]
Do we really need a Peter Pan origin story?
“The boy who never grew up,” basically summerizes all we need to know about the back ground to Peter Pan. While more description might exist in the book, I really dislike turn-of-the-century literature, and so haven’t read it. The J. M Barrie novelization of Peter Pan and Wendy has been turned into countless theatrical releases […]
Catwoman psuedo confirmed in Dark Knight Rises
Apparently, Anne Hathaway let it slip in a post Oscar interview with Oprah that she will not only be playing the part of Selena Kyle, but that she will actually be playing the roll of Cat Woman. So, if I have the count correct, we have Bane and Catwoman confirmed, and some speculation about who […]
Apollo 18: The Haunted Mission that didn’t happen
If you didn’t watch the trailer last week, below you will find another chance. Apollo 18, scheduled for release on April 21st, follows the story of the non-existant mission; and attempts to explain why we never went back.
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards: The Winners
4 Hours of Academy Awards is a hell of a lot to watch, so writing up a brief on what was experienced is nothing short of difficult. Be it Kirk Douglas rambling on about how attractive the hosts were, or the sublime shade of green that most of the first-time award winners appeared to be. […]
02/24/2011: The Final Voyage of the Shuttle Discovery
Today, quite possibly, will go down in history as being a somber day. The last day for a dream of a child to have been realized, and the first day of the end. Today, at 4:50pm Eastern, the NASA orbiter shuttle Discovery launched for the last time.
IMAX is Officially a Success
Want some additional proof that more 3D movies are going to be coming down the Hollywood pipe? How about this. When adjusted to net profit, last year IMAX movies alone made 68 million dollars in box office ticket sales. That is up almost 48 million from the 2009 total of 20.5 million in IMAX ticket […]
AND IIIII WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUU, AGAIIIIN
Oh, that’s right. You guessed it. A remake for “The Bodyguard” is in the works. AICN, reports that Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer will re-work the script so that the part of Frank Farmer will be a former Iraqi-war vet, rather than a secret service agent. Personally, I would cast Dwayne Johnson for this part.
Someone from ‘Deadliest Catch’ died. Discovery probably to spin off new show about it
I’ve never watched the show. I find the subject non-interesting, in the same way I was completely uninterested in Geometry or Trig in college. There were much more interesting things to look at (girls) and read about (anything else). But according to Variety, actor Justin Tennison (34) was found dead in a hotel room in […]
‘Prometheus’ is going to have an animatronic Space Jockey. Oh and more HR Giger.
Everything about Prometheus reeks of a prequel. I mean, seriously. It’s Riddley Scott, it’s in the Alien franchise’s universe. Now the project has HR Giger advising set and costume design, and reports are coming in that an 8 foot tall animatronic Space Jockey is being built. How much more do you need to say “Prequel?” […]
