Are The Rumors True? Is Android’s Jellybean 4.3 Coming Soon?
Apparently if you’re an AT&T customer who uses either a Samsung Galaxy S3 or HTC One it’s closer than you might have thought.
It’s already no secret that both HTC and Samsung have said that their devices namely the HTC One, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, respectively, have been slated to get the Android Jellybean 4.3 upgrade. Further more both the HTC One and Galaxy S3 were spotted in the ‘wild’ running the update.
Both phones are still running 4.1, and have stated that updating to the intermediate 4.2 is such an insignificant change that it’s best off to wait for the 4.3 release… except if you’re an international owner of an HTC One because you’ve had 4.2.2 since July. Speaking of 4.3 and HTC, those of you who might be looking for a leaked version of the 4.3 build, you can find it here.
As for us poor unfortunate souls who keep getting ribbed by our coworkers for not using an iPhone (I’m looking at you Jasen), we will have to wait until Samsung says we’re ready for it. Although with their announcement of that fancy Samsung watch doohickey, “The Galaxy Gear,” it only makes sense that it’s going to be sooner rather than later. Samsung will definitely want to take full advantage of their Bluetooth Low Energy connection, which is only a feature in 4.3. The Galaxy Gear will be released on September 25th.
As far as I can tell, it will be closer to October when they get off their butts and release it, though with both companies seeming to favor their international markets more and more, it might be a bit longer.
What OS are you running on your phone currently, and what do you like/dislike about it? Also who else has had a strange urge to eat KitKat Bars since Google’s last OS announcement? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
