Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

See this beautiful piece of wood and metal? This thing is responsible for the entire Silent Hill series up to this point.

And now you can own it!

Akira Yamaoka, better known as the composer for the seven currently released entries of Silent Hill and the upcoming Shadows of the Damned, has put up the acoustic-electric guitar (a Yamaha APX-15FM) he used in every game for the charity auction Play for Japan. As of this posting, the guitar has already accumulated $1,525 in bids with a little less than 5 days to go. The winner of the guitar will also receive two effects amps, a Line 6 FB4 and a Line 6 POD, which Yamaoka claims can “recreate any sound from the Silent Hill series”. The guitar will also be personally signed by Akira Yamaoka himself!

100% of the profits will go to the American Red Cross to help with relief efforts in Japan, so bid away knowing that your money is going to a good cause. The auction listing can be found here.
