Adventure Time: Sky Witch, Shows How Awesome the Ladies of Ooo Just Are
I’m sure that the writers of this episode must be cat people. Because, seriously, a clock that as an alarm system has a cat that comes out on a spring and bats at your face with its paws? I need to make a patent on that. So, PB created a gas for the giant bumball machine guys to blow on people to make them pass out. PB wants to create an elite squad (Finn, Jake, Banana Guards, and Cinnamon Bun) that would be able to withstand the gas, will the sleep away. Seriously, the whole scene of PB explaining how to beat the gas while it was being tested was pretty awesome.
Too bad it knocked out everyone but Cinnamon Bun. Oh, how I love him.
When Marceline shows up, well, the episode just gets pretty awesome from there. I’m not going to go too in depth. But Maja the Sky Witch took something from Marceline, something precious and even though she doesn’t get it, PB tags along to help with her brains. Something that I really dig about Adventure Time, is that the main female roles on this show are pretty empowering. Princess Bubblegum is a scientific genius that uses her vast knowledge to solve problems for, well, essentially everyone. Even Finn and Jake. Marcelline is the Vampire Queen, and well, she just kicks ass and plays a really good double axe (literally) bass. I’m not a girl, so I’m not going to pretend that I can vouch for them. But, if my 3 year old daughter took a liking to their characters (when she’s old enough to watch) I’ll have absolutely no problem with that. They are strong, smart and kick some butt, that would make any dad proud.
Where was I?
Oh, so, yeah. Sky Witch, good episode, Maja is damn craaaaaazy. She seemed to be foreshadowing that something was coming after the “deal” she made at the end of the episode. I have a feeling that something is brewing in the Land of Ooo. We’ll have to see what it is as the rest of the season unfolds.
