It looks like our favorite Amazon Princess is finally coming to the big screen….
Right after Ben Affleck was cast as the new Dark Knight in the Man of Steel sequel, rumors began to spread that Zach Snyder was also looking to cast a tall, athletic, dark haired women as Bruce Wayne’s companion/girlfriend. The internet immediately starting speculating that this was actually going to be a casting for none other than Wonder Woman. Looks like that old internet might know a thing or two after all. Today Warner Brothers confirmed that Gal Gadot has been cast to indeed play the Amazon Princess. How big or small her role will be has yet to be released, but one’s thing is for sure, by adding Wonder Woman, WB and DC seem to be taking the first steps to giving us what we all want, a Justice League Movie. "Fast & Furious" Los Angeles PremiereWith more rumors of the Flash and Nightwing also possibly being in the movie recently surfacing, I wonder what other surprise castings we will hear about before this highly anticipated sequel actually starts shooting.

Gal Gadot, an Israeli model/actress, is best known for her roles in the Fast and Furious movies. While I did like Gadot in those movies, her sample size is really too small for me to make a fair judgment on whether or not she is a good fit to play DC’s most famous female superhero. One thing I do know is that even though she is quite stunning, she is still gonna need to put on a few pounds of muscle to be able to pull off the physicality needed to play an Amazon that can go toe to toe with Superman. Given how happy I was at the casting of Affleck to play Batman though, I think I’ll give Snyder the benefit of the doubt with this one and hope that he knows what his doing. But let us know what you think. Has Zach Snyder lost his mind, or is Gal a good fit for DC’s first lady?

Zach Snyder’s Official Statement from earlier today:

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” said director Zack Snyder.  “Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Man of Steel 2 starts shooting next year and opens in theaters on July 17th, 2015
