Box Office Results March 27-29
DreamWork’s Home surprised everyone with a very strong $52 million opening weekend, certainly much stronger than we had anticipated. Get Hard managed to convince $33.8 million worth of an audience to spend far too long enduring gay jokes. The Divergent Series: Insurgent lost 58.8% of its audience, but still retained third overall in the weekend top ten. Cinderella began slipping in its third week, but still managed to pull in $17 million in receipts. It Follows expanded across the country, bringing its country wide debut to $3.8 million, which is very good for a small festival horror film. Kingsman is still running strong, only dropping to sixth in its seventh week, having crossed the worldwide gross mark of $300 million along with Cinderella. It is expected that Furious 7 will open in the number one spot, it is unknown how much staying power it will have, with that being the only major film opening next weekend not much is due to change in these numbers.
