You might recall the Autobot characters from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as being brash and questionably racist, but did any of you think they’d put them in the newest film after the ruckus that came up during the last movie?
Apparently they’ve been spotted on the Transformers 3 set recently which is in stark contrast with what director Michael Bay said back in May of last year about whether the twins would make their way onto the big screen again.
With the inclusion of NASCAR Autobots in the newest movie that will probably be stereotypical white-trash, which in all honesty would be no different than the caricatures that we saw in Skids and Mudflap. I wouldn’t doubt that Bay would sneak the characters back into the film to have them murdered in the opening scenes as a crowdpleaser, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of these two characters. They created too much controversy to NOT be in the next film.
My two cent take on all of this is that I thought that Skids and Mudflap were probably the funniest reason to see the film. For a movie that was long as hell with battle scene after battle scene, they did a good job in breaking up the all-too-serious dialogue that we got and the shitty lines from Shia saying he wanted a “NORMAL” life. Jesus man, you’re in the middle of an interstellar war with giant transforming robots as your friend, you should feel lucky!
Either way, I’m going to see this film…haters be damned!
