Apparently 50% of your brand’s awareness.

According to an article at Gamasutra and the tracking firm OTX, without the Call of Duty bit at the beginning of the upcoming Infinity Ward and Activision game Modern Warfare 2, the game’s awareness dropped from 40% of US gamers knowing about it to only 20%…

Let me put that into perspective for you all. Once they removed the CoD bit from the name…half the people that knew it from the brand’s name dropped away. I know that this won’t damage the game’s sales one bit, but it’s always interesting to see statistics like this…it doesn’t matter, you’ll still have all the Walmart gamers calling it “That new Call of Duty game.”
