TGIF EVERYONE!!! I hope everyone is having as relaxing of a weekend as I am having. I thought with my recent situation with my job, that this weekend’s anthems would be all about making that dollar. So with that in mind, let’s get it started off right with a little oldie but a goodie from our friend, Snoop Doggy Dogg and his friends The Gourds.

Gin and Juice – The Gourds

While I love the original Snoop Dogg version, being from the south I just have a thing with a well-played banjo or mandolin. And whenever country music takes a rap song and puts their own spin on it I think it’s hilarious.

Hit the jump for more of my money/job related songs.

Working for a Livin’ – Huey Lewis and the News

This is one of those fun songs that takes me back to the good ol’ times, the 80’s. And it’s Huey Lewis. You gotta love Huey right?

The Money Song – Monty Python Flying Circus

If you hate Monty Python, then get the hell out. I don’t even want to talk to you. If you do like the Python, then come and enjoy this one with me.

Take this Job and Shove It – David Allan Coe, performed by Jonny Paycheck

Again, I’m southern so deal with it. Country music is a great genre for singing the blues about jobs, money and women. And David Allan Coe wrote one of the best songs about working for a living. I couldn’t find a decent version of him singing it so you’ll have to deal with Johnny Paycheck and his Texas sized hat.

Well that’s all I feel like doing for now. I’m now headed to see the Watchmen and then to some country bar where I can feed my country soul. See ya next week.
