Hey Marshmallows! Veronica Mars is on the Big Screen this Weekend
Veronica Mars opens this weekend! See it in select theaters on March 14, 2014. Fandango has the first eight minutes of the Veronica Mars movie to whet your appetite.
Ryan posted the official trailer on WatchPlayRead in January. You can see it here.
The first two minutes of the preview give enough backstory for any friends who haven’t watched the TV show. Shame on them, but they will have no problem keeping up with the movie premise. The catch-up is comprehensive. It even includes a clip of that first Veronica-Logan kiss (insert dreamy sigh). I am not a romantic really, but it is my favorite moment of the show—and possibly in the running for my fave TV moments of all time!
This movie project has an impressive backstory of its own. If you are already a fan, then you’re most likely well aware of the Kickstarter campaign that moved this move from a gleam in Kristen Bell’s and Rob Thomas’ eye to a reality. And the great actors back to reprise their roles in Neptune: Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Eli Navarro), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Krysten Ritter (Gia Goodman), Chris Lowell (Stosh Pisnarski), Tina Majorino (Cindy Mackenzie), Amanda Noret (Madison Sinclair). It will be great to see all these characters so many years later. Not to mention Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), Ken Marino (Vinny Van Lowe), and Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack) are back to stir up some private eye shenanigans.
If you have access to Pivot TV, they will air a Veronica Mars marathon beginning Wednesday, March 12 at 1:00AM ET/10:00PM PT and concluding Thursday, March 13 at 12:00AM ET/9:00PM PT. Pivot’s Veronica Mars take-over includes the series pilot, the last two episodes of season two and the entire season three including the series finale. Interspersed with the iconic episodes are original interviews with the cast, producers, scholars and some of the show’s biggest fans who share their favorite moments and talk about the lasting impact this series made on them and the television landscape.
And for the record, it’s Team Logan for the win. Who is that Piz guy anyway?
