Them feels.

Them feels.

Maiden Japan, a relatively new North American distributor of anime (though under the same Section23 films roof as Sentai Filmworks and Switchblade Pictures) will be bringing the animated drama Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 to our shores on DVD, Blu-ray, and a number of digital formats on April 2nd 2013. The 11-episode series, which WPR resident anime veteran Evan Burkey describes as “Your body is not ready for the feels contained within”, shows in frightening detail the sheer devastation an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale would bring upon such a densely populated city as Japan.

I would provide a clip from the show, but Evan has cautioned that even that could spoil the experience of Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. Just that knowledge alone launches the show to the top of my “must own” list. As this has just been announced, pre-order information is not currently available, but keep your eyes on WatchPlayRead for more information as it comes in.
