Coheed and who? Today is a day for celebrating all things Might be Giants! If you’ve been living under a rock for the past 30 years or so, They Might be Giants are one of the most prolific, genre-smashing, downright fun to listen to artists ever to rock a guitar and accordion.
With a humongous catalog spanning back to their earliest days in the 80′s, catching the TMBG bug is truly a life changing experience. For me, TMBG started out as “that band that did songs for that one episode of Tiny Toon Adventures.” Little did I know that after hearing Flood, arguably their most popular album and the one that Particle Man, Birdhouse in your Soul, and Istanbul (Not Constantinople) come from, I would be hooked for the rest of my life. I’m not even going to go into the giant man-crush I have on John Linnell.
I really can’t say enough good things about the band, but I can show you some videos to perhaps turn you over to the dark side. If this stuff strikes your fancy, I can’t encourage you enough to look into more They Might be Giants. You may be interested to know that they have an album coming out soon, and you can download 4 advance tracks and a neat e-booklet from Join Us right now on iTunes.
