The Future – Trailer
This movie is for all of you hip young people who think that you have nothing to worry about and that you’ll live forever. If you need a hint, I’ll share this bit of wisdom with you. You’re dying slowly everyday.
The film, directed by Miranda July follows Sophie (Miranda July herself) and Jason who are two thirty somethings who decide to adopt a cat (who narrates the film mind you) that has a prognosis of 1 month to 5 years. It’s here where the couple is awoken from their lounging lifestyle and are reminded that in 5 years they’ll be crossing the border into being 40. To these two, being forty is akin to being in the grave and wearing Depends undergarments.
In all seriousness, this movie looks to be just spectacularly entertaining for me. There comes a point in each of our lives where we have to look back and wonder where our life went…but at the same time realize that it’s not over and there’s plenty of living left to do. Jesus, this trailer’s got me all poetic thinking. I can’t wait to watch it!
The film will be out this July on the 29th, it’s more than likely that it will be getting a small release, so check your local art house theaters.
