The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Will Bring New Engine Multiplatform
If you noticed in my article yesterday that I neglected to include the systems that the recently announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will appear on, and there was good reason. The announcement trailer and launch website simply didn’t have that information.
Worry not, readers, as it was just discovered today that the newest title in the Elder Scrolls saga will be hitting the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 simultaneously on November 11, 2011. The previously mentioned replacement of the buggy Gamebryo engine with a new internally developed one has been confirmed as well, though we do not know the name of this engine yet. They claim to have been developing this engine for “many years” which would explain why they didn’t simply use the id Tech 5 engine they acquired when parent company Zenimax purchased id Software.
Excited? You know I am!
