What is best in life? To blog your opinions, see them published before you, and to hear the lamentations of the commenters. Of course, throwing someone a first class beatdown is nice too.

WPR Discusses: E3 2011

by under FEATURED on Jun 13th
It’s just not E3 until every opinionated nerd on the internet has had their say, and we here at WatchPlayRead are no different (except, of course, for the fact that our opinion actually matters).

WPR Discusses: Internet TV

by under FEATURED, WATCH on Oct 11th
Internet memes have been making more and more appearances on television lately, but now instead of making brief appearances in existing shows, they’re becoming shows themselves. With “Shit My Dad Says” on the air now and with two more on the way (Shh Don’t Tell Steve and Awkward Family Photos), is this a welcome change or just a lame attempt to make a buck? Would you watch a goatse sitcom? RYAN...

WPR Discusses – Workday Supernova

by under READ on Aug 11th
Our WPR chatroom at work can yield some interesting discussions, much like the one that we just had about nuclear weaponry and supernovae…seriously we’ve just had a 30 minute long discussion about 1 Gigaton explosions, antimatter, and our own Sol going supernova. We speculate, because we’re not scientists, that the 1 AU that the ‘splosion would have to cross (if the radiation didn’t kill...

Next Time Buy the Vest AND the Helmet

Guys, I doubt many of us will ever have the ability or the drive to ever play Counter-Strike at a net cafe in China, but if you’re ever in the thick of it and you’re accused of cheating…you’d better run your ass off to avoid some serious pain. [graphic image follows]

Megamind – Teaser Trailer

by under WATCH on Mar 19th
I won’t lie, I’m kinda excited to see what this movie is capable of. You’ve got Will Ferrell playing an evil villain, Tina Fey playing the damsel in distress, Jonah Hill, and Brad Pitt all throwing in their voice work. It should prove to at least be entertaining, though there are the people out there who are just always so willing to poo on anything Dreamworks does. Eh, wait and see this November.

Super Street Fighter IV – Hakan Trailer

by under PLAY on Mar 10th
The only thing that could have saved this game series from becoming the endless set of repeated games with additional characters and modes (which I lived through with Street Fighter II, mind you) was adding in a character that could make the people playing laugh their asses off. They’ve done just that with Hakan.

Steam on Mac – Confirmed

by under PLAY on Mar 3rd
Well damn, looks like it wasn’t rumor or speculation at all. Turns out that it’s completely true! The guys over at Valve have been sending assets over to MacRumors this whole week teasing them about the whole “will they or won’t they” game that we all used as children to torture others. This is surprisingly good news for all of the people who own Macs and want to use them to play games on...

Metal Gear Solid 4: Thumbs of the Patriots

Quite possibly one of the coolest videogame related videos I’ve seen in a long time. Bravo to the creators of this for capturing the essence of a MGS game while using nothing but props and fingers.

Bravo Valve, You Kings of Obscurity

by under PLAY on Mar 2nd
If you haven’t heard, it’s very possible that Valve has released a whole slew of potential Portal 2 artwork and have earned the title of “Kings of Obscurity” by including it all in an update for Portal that features hidden messages in audio format that have to be fed through a hash translator and ancient BBS phone numbers.
