Congratulations Runic Games!

Not only have you guys managed to sell over half-a-million units of Torchlight, but for bringing us one of the funnest PC experiences we’ve had in years. Your game has been a breath of fresh air in an all too stale PC gaming world. Now that we have Torchlight on the PC and the Mac…all that’s left is if you could get it onto the consoles through XBL and PSN, like you were talking about a little while...

Who doesn’t love delicious baby animals?

by under READ on May 12th
I am a foodie. I love exploring food, tastes, textures, colors, everything about food. I run a blog with my sister (mostly it’s me doing the work) and Ryan Thomason asked me to give WPR a go. I’d love to write about foods, especially new items seen on the market. I work in a grocery store so I see a lot of interesting new products. I do most of my own cooking so many of these recipes will be much healthier...

by under PLAY on May 11th
For all of you Mac users out there that are tired of using dual booting or feel somehow more dirty for having a Windows partition on your computer, then rejoice because starting tomorrow, May 12th, you will finally be able to use Valve’s Steam client on your Macs! Food Revolution

by under WATCH on Mar 22nd
What has our country come to? This is absolutely devastating to me. I just watched this ‘sneak peak’ of the new show Food Revolution on ABC. The school system in Huntington serve pizza for breakfast. Why, you may ask. Because it meets the MyPyramid food requirements, and it’s cheap.

Valve updates Portal again, “Added valuable asset retrieval”

by under PLAY on Mar 3rd
I love Valve. Really one of the few amazing game companies out there. As we told you about yesterday, Portal had an update that added an achievement and some strange things came out of it. Well guess what, Valve updated Portal again, today! And what they added may have given us a clue to what is happening. Spoilers after the jump:

Steam on Mac – Confirmed

by under PLAY on Mar 3rd
Well damn, looks like it wasn’t rumor or speculation at all. Turns out that it’s completely true! The guys over at Valve have been sending assets over to MacRumors this whole week teasing them about the whole “will they or won’t they” game that we all used as children to torture others. This is surprisingly good news for all of the people who own Macs and want to use them to play games on...

Weekend Steam Deals: Mount & Blade

by under PLAY on Feb 12th
The Steam weekend deals were announced today and their big discount this time is 85% off of some game called Mount & Blade. Think Elder Scrolls: Oblivion on a horse and you have the basic idea. Yours truly got to spend an hour playing the demo for this game and my conclusion is this: I wouldn’t play this game if you paid me. That’s right, I would turn down CASH MONEY to play a game. That’s how...

A Comic After Our Own Hearts

by under READ on Aug 30th
If there is anything we like more than video games, comic books or movies here at Media Whore Network it’s bacon. The smell of it, the taste of it, the texture. Why, some of us might even go as far as to say they lost their genitalia in an unfortunate bacon accident! So when I lay eyes upon this strip from the book 5 Very Good Reasons To Punch A Dolphin In The Mouth (And Other Useful Guides) I can only think of...

‘Family Games’ on Steam

by under PLAY on Jul 20th
C’mon Valve, really? Is there really a need to further segment the gaming community who loves your service? I guess so. As it stands right now there are currently 120 games listed under the new Family Games category on Steam. From what I saw, many of the games were…how can I put it…more girly than the traditional faire. For example, Samatha Swift, Nancy Drew, Super Granny, and Cakemania are at the...

Fallout 3 Makin’ A Killing on Steam

by under PLAY on Jul 7th
You know what’s funny? Seeing games like Fallout 3 (that are almost a year old) jump to the top of the sales charts for the week only because the company decides to have a ‘half-off sale’ for the weekend. We have all learned one thing about games, the cheaper you make ‘em, the more people are willing to buy them…guess it doesn’t really matter how cheap they make it right now, seeing...

Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer demo incoming

by under PLAY on Jul 5th
Most here at MWN are pretty big fans of Valve’s monster hit Left 4 Dead, and I for one am ready to welcome the sequel with open arms when it’s released later on this year.  Valve announced yesterday that they have plans to release a multi-player demo which if you pre-order via Steam or participating retailers you’ll be able to get advanced access too.  There’s no word on when the demo is going...

MWN Impressions: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode Two

by under PLAY on Nov 4th
The Second installment in the Penny Arcade Adventures series was released onto consoles, PCs and Macs recently and after loving the first I eagerly snatched up the second as soon as the opportunity presented itself. The point and click adventure style combined with RPG elements and the quirky, absurd and altogether charming humour are a blessing in a world of RPGs that take themselves so seriously. The only question...

The Ship: The Best Multiplayer Game No One Plays

by under PLAY on Oct 2nd
What, you’ve never heard of The Ship? I’m not surprised. The Ship is a little known game that was put out on Steam in 2006. I had never heard of this game until some friends of mine introduced me to it, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

BRB Fappin’: Megaman 9 NES Cart and Packaging Will Be Sold to the Public

by under PLAY on Sep 19th
Now, I’m not that old of a gamer, I can barely remember the end of the 16-bit era, but even i can appreciate something as awesome as this. From the Capcom Admin of Capcom-Unity, comes news that the “retail packaging” for Megaman 9 complete with a “NES Cartridge” and Game Assests CD. The best news is that it won’t just be restricted to certain people in the gaming media, but will...
