I can still paint a vivid imagining of what Hobbiton looked like in my head when I first poured over the Lord of the Rings books, the movie helped frame it somewhat but master world builder Tolkien did it for me the first time. At least now we can take a look at and BUY some concept art done by the guys at Weta Workshop.

I won’t hate on The Lord of the Rings movies simply because they really were magnificent movies that deserve all the respect they command…and not to mention that I have much love for Peter Jackson’s work.
