LRE #18: Alice in Wonderland (2010)

by under FEATURED, WATCH on Oct 1st
Little Red Envelope In my mailbox this week: Alice in Wonderland Release Year: 2010 Staring: Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter Classic literature is ripe for remake. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see A Tale of Two Cities making a theatrical re-debut. Some have already seen their day, and the 1951 Disney animated classic of Alice in Wonderland should have been where Disney stopped. But instead,...

Morning Cup o’ Music

by under PLAY on Sep 30th
Having a child is an awesome thing, mainly because it gives you the chance to revisit classic cartoons from your childhood in the hopes of teaching your kid what you grew up with and also to try warping their mind much how your own was distorted. This is where Disney’s Alice in Wonderland steps into the picture. The video for today is the scene where Alice meets up with the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and the Doormouse...

If You Can Make It Through This Scene…

by under WATCH on Mar 30th
Then by all means, go watch the new Disney’s Alice in Wonderland movie that Tim Burton made, if you can’t…then you’re better off staying away. This is the one scene that just made me fucking rage when I saw it in the theater a few weeks back. You can hear all of that anger on last week’s episode of The Red-Light Roundtable podcast, made even funnier by it being a drunken rant.

Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland – The Game

by under PLAY on Aug 7th
I’ll admit it, I’m a massive Tim Burton fan. I think that a good majority of us whores here are too. Whether it be PeeWee’s Big Adventure or the 1989 Batman movies, the guy just has a knack for turning the normal into the obscene. It is no stretch to me that he should do an Alice in Wonderland story…the man’s brain is wired differently enough to make it work. What came as a surprise to me...

SDCC09: Alice in Wonderland – Trailer

by under WATCH on Jul 24th
Alice in Wonderland debuted yesterday at SDCC with the above trailer,  I really like visual aesthetic of the film, with everything looking larger than life it looks like something I could have dreamed up as a kid.  The film looks dark and twisted as well which is a good thing, the original book wasn’t a happy kids story and I’m glad to see they seem to be going for that type of story rather than a typical...

by under WATCH on Jun 22nd
If that image above doesn’t send chills down your spine, we need to check your pulse. I honestly had no idea that Tim Burton was working on an Alice in Wonderland remake but now that I have seen some of the first screens and art pieces I can honestly say I’m starting to get excited for this flick. When there are such amazing actors as Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee, Michael Sheen, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham...
